How to Migrate from Square Loyalty to Per Diem Loyalty

Before you begin

Before your loyalty program can be migrated, please contact the Per Diem team to let us know you'd like to switch to Per Diem Loyalty.
We'll coordinate the migration with Square to ensure the transition is as smooth as possible.

Step 1: We request migration access from Square

Once you request to join Per Diem Loyalty, our team will submit a request to Square to enable the required merchant flag for your account.
This step prepares your Square account for the migration process.
No action is required from you during this step.

Step 2: Export your existing Square Loyalty data

Next, request a CSV export of your loyalty data from Square.

The export should include:

• Customer phone numbers
• Current loyalty point balances

Square will provide this file for your account.

Step 3: Send the CSV to the Per Diem team

Once you receive the CSV from Square, send it to the Per Diem team.
We'll securely import your customer loyalty balances into Per Diem Loyalty so your customers keep the points they've already earned.

Step 4: Switch your loyalty program to Per Diem

After your loyalty data has been successfully migrated:

• Ensure the Per Diem Loyalty flag has been enabled for your account.
• Turn off Square Loyalty and turn on Per Diem Loyalty at your POS. This setting lives in Device Mode — this quick video walks through the setup. You'll just need to:
  1. Edit the Device Mode
  2. Turn off Loyalty (Square's loyalty)
  3. Turn on Third Party Loyalty (Per Diem)

This completes the transition from Square Loyalty to Per Diem Loyalty.

Step 5: Square redirects loyalty traffic

As the final step, the Square team enables a setting on their side that redirects all loyalty activity to Per Diem Loyalty.

From this point forward:

• Customers will earn loyalty points through Per Diem Loyalty.
• Customers will redeem rewards through Per Diem Loyalty.
• All loyalty activity will be managedin your Per Diem dashboard.
